Editor's Note

The story below was written for Danial, (not his real name), an 18 year old who has found himself as a pawn in a game of gangland violence.He shared his plight with me and asked me what he should do and what was the worst that could happen if he complied with the wishes he was subject to.To him, he didn want to be known as a coward or as one who cannot be counted upon in a crisis.I wrote the narrative below, to give him an idea of what he might go through if he decided to carry on with whatever it was he was doing. The details in the story somewhat reflect the events in his life and how he even got to this state in the first place. I hope that it helps us to realise the weight of our actions, even those we take out of self-pity or anger towards the world.
